ABOUT LE MARCHE
Along its western border with Umbria runs the dramatic Apennine mountains and its full eastern coastline meets the Adriatic sea. A region of contrasts, there are ski resorts in the Mountains, numerous medieval hilltop villages (such as Monterubbiano) sitting in the rolling countryside as well as many beach resorts on the coast.
The Mountains offer a wide range of walks and other outdoor pursuits and the world famous Sibillini National park created in 1933 is a must for all lovers of the outdoors.
Coastal resorts such as Pedaso, Porto san Giorgio, Portonovo and Senigallia are still unspoilt and in the summer the beach restaurants offer a variety of local dishes to the visitor. The landscape is still a patchwork of small farms, some with only a few hectares of land. Together with the myriad hilltop villages it combines to give one of the most beautiful landscapes in Italy. Yet most major cities in Italy can be reached by car within a few hours from Le Marche. Rome is under three hours away, Bologna two hours and Florence two hours from Ancona to the north and slightly longer from Ascoli Piceno in the South. |

Le Marche is a region of central Italy bordered by Emilia Romagna, Umbria & Abruzzo. It has four provinces and until recently has been a well kept secret outside of Italy.
Le Marche’s beautiful villages are full of ancient churches and historic buildings and the countryside is covered by rows of vines and olive groves.
